Rannon Ching for President-elect 2025
Texas Pharmacy Association

TPA President-Elect
My Campaign Promise
As a candidate for President-Elect of the Texas Pharmacy Association, I am committed to advancing the profession through meaningful leadership, collaboration, and innovation. My campaign is grounded in service, progress, and advocacy to ensure pharmacists are empowered to practice at the top of their license and lead in all settings. Together, we can shape a stronger, more unified future for pharmacy in Texas.
If elected to serve as a President, I will:
- Promote and advocate for the profession of pharmacy as a crucial part of the healthcare system and community.
- Encourage and empower other members of our profession to join TPA and our mission to advance together.
- Engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration to make Texas a national leader of pharmacy practice.
about me
Nice to meet you!
My name is Rannon Ching and I am an independent pharmacist and PIC of Tarrytown Pharmacy. I was born in Honolulu Hawaii and lived there until my family moved to Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, prior to my start of the fifth grade.
I complete my undergraduate pre-requisites and Doctor of Pharmacy degree at The University of Texas at Austin in 2014.
When I am not in the pharmacy, I enjoy spending time with my wife Katie and our 2 kids, playing music (piano, guitar, and drums) with friends and in various church bands, eating at new restaurants, and cooking. A few of my hobbies also include baking artisan bread from scratch, and rock climbing!

My Service as a TPA Board Member
It has been my honor to serve the association for the past 6 years as the Speaker Elect and Speaker of the House of Delegates, a Director of the Board, and currently as the Vice President. In my time on the TPA board, I’ve worked together with other members of the board, the association, and TPA staff to fight for the profession of pharmacy.
Here are a few highlights of my last 6 years as a member of the TPA board:
- Testified at the Texas State Capitol numerous times on behalf of the pharmacy profession, in regards to legislation around Test and Treat in 2019, PBM Reform in 2021, and 2023 and Immunizations in 2025.
- Visited and educated legislators at the Capitol about the importance of PBM legislation and community pharmacies around the state of Texas
- Collaborated and worked with the other members of the board
of directors to advance TPA’s public policy strategy, association affairs, and financial affairs.
- Met with legislators at our community pharmacy to show them how pharmacy has been helping during the pandemic
This past year is a great example of what pharmacy can do when we work together and collaborate. We have a great start, and have much more that we must do to grow as an association and profession. I will continue fighting and advocating for the profession with your support and vote!
